how do i get sim card back in tray

Because the unimaginably unhelpful people at the Greenville SC Apple store would not set up my new iPad for me I am now struggling to set up myself. Apple is unable to tell me what the sim number is which is required by Verizon to transfer service from my old iPad and I had to open the tray with a wire which caused everything to go flying and now the card is separate and I cannot tell how to get it back in tray without forcing it in.
