Phone network on SOS And ‘not allowed’

So today I put my phone on airplane mode, when I took airplane mode off. Network was just showing SOS! Have turned my phone off and on, took the sim card out, used a different sim card but still says SOS.

Went to Settings>General>About>Network and it says ‘Phone not allowed.’

Tried to choose Network instead of it being set on ‘Automatic’, still nothing.

Then I turned it off, turned it back on and 1 bar came up and then went back to SOS.

Somebody please help me!

Did you buy the phone as "unlocked"?

Did you already try to force restart the phone?

...

Force restart iPhone X and later, iPhone 8, or iPhone 8 Plus

  1. Press and quickly release the volume up button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume down button.
  3. Press and hold the side button.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.

Next step after that would be setting the phone back to factory settings:

Restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to factory settings
