Icloud won't let me log in

My icloud asked me to reset my password on because mine was old. So, I reset it. Then, however, my messages on my Mac stopped working and wouldn't let me sign in to icloud to sync to my phone. i googled and it said to log out of icloud and log back in. But, when i try to log in, I enter my password (which I am 100% sure is right) and it thinks for a minute and then empties the password field (without logging me in). I've entered the wrong password on purpose and it says wrong password. I need icloud on my computer for calendar and messages so idk what to do. Thanks!

To find out if it's system wide or user specific, try this...

Open System Preferences>Users & Groups, unlock the lock, click on the little plus icon, make a new admin account, log out & into the new account.

Does it work in the new account?
