I bought the new 16 inch Macbook Pro (Catalina) and the audio is out of sync when I'm editing clips in FCPX. I've tried the same project on my 2015 13 inch running Mojave and it is fine. I've tried rebooting and resetting the graphics card using cntl+option+P+R and it works for a second but reverts back.
Anyone else having this problem?

I talked with Apple support and he had me troubleshoot a few things. He said, it's not liking my film clip codec. Which is weird because they were all from my iPhone 11 pro. I tried the tip below (control + option) and it worked.
Well there have been some reports about issues with clips recorded in iPhone 11, but audio out if sync I think it is the first time I have heard of. Nevertheless the solution may be the same: try optimizing these clips and see if that fixes it.
Try resetting the FCP X preferences.
Hold Option-Command as you launch FCP X.
Knowing the clip specs (Video & Audio) and also the Project Properties will assist.

Also, how are you monitoring the audio? Built-in speakers or something else?
