password on a new iMac

I just bought a new iMac. Is there a default password to get started?

No there isn't. The Mac may have been previously owned and the user set a password? If it is a firmware password (on starting up) you would need to contact the original owner.

If it is a password on the Login Screen you need to follow these steps (which should have been done by the previous owner)
