removing password for startup
Bought a new mac for my wife. Her old computer did not require a password at login. The new computer requires one. Can this feature be eliminated, if so, how?

If you set up the Mac with FileVault enabled—FileVault is password protected.
(As long as you just let the machine sleep, after the intial filevault password—you are good to go.)
