Automatic Login Still Requires Password

I need to be able have my Mac Mini able to automatically login without a password upon restarting. In the "Users & Groups" control panel, I have my account selected for automatic login, and FileVault & Firewall are both turned off. From what I've read, changing my password to "blank" shouldn't be necessary, and I'm not even sure that'd work, since I predict it'd just prompt me to hit enter, which is no good either. I've logged out of iCloud on that machine, which shouldn't have any effect, but I'm running short on options. I've run First Aid on the drive, but I'm not going to be reinstalling the OS here..talking about a 10 year old computer (I can go get a cup of coffee while Firefox is launching). Any other advice appreciated.

Mac mini, macOS 10.13

Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode? Could take 10 minutes.

Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches & loads safe Drivers, & prevents loading of 3rd party extensions, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.

To find out if it's system wide or user specific, try this...

Open System Preferences>Users & Groups, unlock the lock, click on the little plus icon, make a new admin account, log out & into the new account.

Does it work in the new account?

EtreCheck is a FREE simple little diagnostic tool to display the important details of your system configuration and allow you to copy that information to the Clipboard. It is meant to be used with Apple Support Communities to help people help you with your Mac. It will not display any personal info.

Pastebin is a good place to paste the whole report if you capture the URL while there…

https://pastebin.com/

Whew, they've changed pastebin & made it harder, but after pasting in, click Create new paste button, then Embed button, then copy the URL...

The important part of the above is between the quote marks...

Workable but harder for me to work with...the Note tool on the bottom of this editor's toolbar, as shown in the image, to copy and paste the output from EtreCheck. In a Reply before you click post, look for this to add longer texts...
