Stop iPhone from switching to Bluetooth during call

Sometimes when I'm in the middle of a "vanilla" phone call--y'know the kind when you have the phone pressed to the side of your head--the audio cuts out. I lower the phone and look at the screen and infer that the call has been switched to one of a number of Bluetooth devices of mine that are in range. (Generally I think it switches to the Bluetooth-enabled cordless phone system in my house.) I can switch the call back to "iPhone" but this is annoying. Short of turning off Bluetooth on the phone whenever I want to make a call that stays on the iPhone, are there any other options?

Hi nwmma,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I see from your post that you would like for your nearby bluetooth devices not to connect during a iPhone call. This article has the steps to take to Pair a third-party Bluetooth accessory with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

I would recommend turning off Bluetooth while on the phone call if you do not want the call transferring to a connected device. The article I provided shows where to turn off that setting.

What you are experiencing appears to be expected behavior. You can leave feedback for Apple Support here: Product Feedback - Apple

I hope that helps.

Best Wishes!
