If you want to rip a CD you will need a computer with either an internal or external CD drive, as well as program that can do the rip. If you don't prefer to use iTunes, you can use a 3rd party tool such as XLD.

Can I copy music from a CD directly to an external HD without importing music to my computer? I have books of mix music CD's from olden times. I want to get rid of the disks and just move the music onto an external HD.
