Find an iPhone show ‘Now’ when it’s wrong
In the last few updates to iOS my wife and I have noticed that find an iPhone is very slow to update location. We have uses it since the beginning to allow all the family to find our locations. It’s so convent to work out where we are when we meet up.
Since iOS 13 we have noticed that when you first open the Find an iPhone app the location often says ‘Now’ when it’s clearly wrong. Often it’s showing the position from the day before. Then within 30 seconds or a minute it changes to the correct location.
I don’t mind the delay but it’s the label ‘Now’ that is the problem. it’s simply wrong and misleading.
On other use cases the display says ‘x minutes ago’ in red or ‘Updating location...’
Both of these labels are much better but the showing of ‘Now’ when it’s clearly not now is very misleading and has lead our family to totally mistrust the Find an iPhone system. This happens about 1 time in three and really I feel this is probably a bug in the way the app displays its labels. It’s nothing to do with GPS.
We update our iPhones as soon as new versions come out and we have iPhones 8 and XS models so the phones are all up to date.
If anyone at Apple knows of a solution I would be very pleased.
Or if anyone else has experienced this then it would be good to know.
regards
