Fraud - My wife received an email stating she had a 49.99 charge for clan clash

My wife received an email stating she had a 49.99 charge for clan clash. The email appeared to be from apple. When she clicked that it was not a valid charge, it asked for her social security number? I thought this was very odd. Is this legit? Everything looks right but I work in the finance community and don’t think they should ever request you to enter a social.

If you provided your Apple ID, and password, change the password immediately.

If you provided financial information, contact your bank immediately.

  • Apple does not include document, or PDF files to download.
  • Apple would not refer to you as Dear Customer, Dear Client, or anything other than the name on file for your account.
  • Apple would not have such horrible spelling or grammar.
  • Apple would not send a message to “Undisclosed Recipients”.

It is a phishing attempt. Do not respond. Do not divulge any personal or financial information. You can use the address below to forward the suspect email message, as an attachment to Apple.
