Today I got on my phone like normal all morning, then I went to try to get on my phone again and face recogniction wasn't working and when I did get into my phone all that appears is a black screen. I am wondering how to get rid of this issue and if there is something that I did to trigger this issue?

That is not how you do a forced restart on an iPhone 11, you press and release the volume up button, then press and release the volume down button then press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo. For future reference.

Try holding down POWER/Lock/Wake button & the volume down simultaneously and holding till APPLE logo appears.

Yeah, you don't use the slide you shut down with settings general or you use assistive touch for a restart
