Clips app “Cannot download this project” Issue

I worked in a project for a while and after going to photos and came back to the app, my project hand in downloading and after a while displayed a message saying: “Cannot download this project”.

This has been going on for several hours we tried rebooting the iPad and freeing space in storage.

Any ideas on how to fix or recover my project.

Thanks

I had the same problem and even with support on the phone, we could not solve it (tried if frequently for two days). Later that day and unrelated I updated/synchronised my photos library with the cloud. On a whim I decided to try clips again and voilá, it works. Might be a coincidence, might be related but for me, downloading clips worked after the photos library had been updated all photos (pecking order of downloads).

I having the same issue. I've tried to restart and still having the download issue. The clips I took is about 41 mins long. It's in several clips. I tried to export the video which failed multiple times. I also tried to export the project to my MacBOok but that didn't work either. Now just waiting to see if the spinning will ever stop. So bummed. If I'd known it wouldn't work, I'd used another device or just the camera app.

Have you checked whether the iCloud has completed its synchronisation of files and photos? This was the issue for me. Mind you, 40 minutes of film is quite big (several GB I guess), so depending on your network speed and reliability, this may take a while (>1 hr). I had noticed in the past that the download fails if the screen goes off during the transfer, maybe this is another cause on your case.

Hi, I had the same problem. My project (2 mins+) was saved in iCloud and i couldn’t open it at all to edit further. I thought I did not have enough cloud storage but there was plenty but my ipad storage was running low. I tried clearing the ipad storage by deleting/offload some apps and tried downloading the project again and it worked. You may want to check your ipad storage. Hope this helps.
