Apple Photos Export not reflecting Affinity edit after Catalina 10.15.2

I'll start by mentioning that I upgraded to Mac OS 10.15.2 yesterday from Mojave. I noticed today that when exporting a photo from Apple Photos, specifically one that I edited in Affinity last year before upgrading to Catalina, it does not reflect the edits I made. The original file was shot in RAW, I used "Edit in Affinity", saved and closed and it created the jpeg in Apple Photos. Before the upgrade, I've successfully exported to both jpeg and png, both with the changes I made in Affinity.

What's odd is that the preview in Apple Photos shows my edit, but the export looks like a jpeg made from the RAW, with no edits. I'll say, I haven't made a ton of edits in affinity, but I spot checked others and all but two exported fine today. So what I'm saying is that not everything I've edited in Affinity is having this Photos export issue.

Any information would be helpful, as I don't know if there is a missing link after the update or what. I'm not sure if the issue lies with Apple or with Affinity, but I wanted to start here. After the update, I noticed the hierarchy in "Show Package Contents" for my Photos library is not something anyone can easily navigate, so I can't even locate the original or the preview file.

Thanks for posting your question. As I understand it, a selection of photos edited in Affinity do not show your edits when exported, but some do. Is that right?

Regarding the photos that do seem to export as expected, are there any differences in file formatting compared to the ones that don't export with the edits?

If you make edits to a photo now using Affinity and then try to export it, how does it work?

Depending, it might help to create a test administrator account and sign in there to see if you can replicate the issue. Knowing if exporting the same edited photo gives the same results in a different administrator account would help narrow things down: How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac

A selection of photos that was edited with Affinity, when I was on Mojave, is not exporting from Photos with those previous edits, now that I'm on Catalina. I've exported these exact same photos from Apple Photos when I was on Mojave, and there was no issue. Again, the preview that I see in Apple Photos shows the correct edits, which is what makes this more strange.

To answer your question about editing in Affinity, there is a whole separate issue with making edits in Affinity, when on OS 10.15, where it will not write back to Apple Photos. I'm already aware of that and am waiting on an upgrade to Affinity. In other words, I can't even test a new edit in Affinity to see if the issue can be replicated when exporting from Apple Photos.

Below is first a screenshot from Photos 5.0, showing my previous edits that were made in Affinity. Below that is the resulting export of the same photo from Photos 5.0, and you can see it looks like an unedited flat jpg, from the RAW file.
