I am hard of hearing and have been using TV Ears on my mid2010. Can't on my 2019 iMac. The new iMac has only one port unlike my old 2010 iMac which had two ports. Is there an adaptor that would allow me to use my TV Ears?

I have connected my TV Ears to the 3.5 mm headphone jack with no results. I am beginning to think that this port in the back is. not working. I have tried earbuds there but nothing either.
How can I test the port to see IF it is working?
I have asked my seller and Apple support how I can test the port to see IF it is working. Everyone says that simply inserting the jack will do the trick. I have done that with no joy.
I will see what the TV Ears support people say as well as the Apple support people.

I have done as you suggest with no sound coming through the TV Ears. I will wait to see what Apple Support says about how to test the port to see if it is working properly.

Place one hand on the front bottom left corner of the iMac to support it and firmly push the TV Ears or EarBuds jack into the Headphone port with the other hand.
NO, the sound does not go off as you would think it should with a jack in the port.

2019 iMac still has 3.5 mm headphone jack.
Virgin headphone ports can be tight and you have to push harder to fully insert the jack the first time.
TV Ears do not work on new 2019 iMac as they did on my mid2010 which had to ports for audio
