iOS 12.4.4. upgrade problem

iTunes started to update my older iPad to 12.4.4. Which it said was available for my device. But an error pops up saying I "don't have permission" to get that release.

I assume my iPad is too old for 13.*

Any suggestions?

The original iPad Air (as suggested in your signature), now unsupported, is limited to iOS12.4.4 whereas the iPad Air 2 will support iPadOS13.x - as does the current 3rd Generation (2019) iPad Air. Eligibility for update for older models of iPad will certainly differ. What model iPad are you trying to update?

If updating your iPad using iTunes, ensure that you are running the most current version of iTunes. A forced-restart of your iPad, prior to attempting update, may make a difference.

I hope this proves to be helpful.

If you are having difficulties reaching the update server, try restarting your Home Broadband Router (i.e., power off, wait 30 seconds, power on). On occasion, Home Routers can block access - or have DNS lookup issues - and a simple restart can often resolve a connection issue.

After restarting your router, restart each of the devices to refresh their IP/DNS.

I hope this helps to resolve the problem.
