Siri is draining my battery

Why is Siri draining my battery. It happens even when Siri is turned off in settings. My phone can have a 100% charge before going to bed and the phone is dead in the morning.

Yesterday I reset my phone and now Siri is no longer a battery hog. Go to Settings and tap General > Reset >Reset All Settings. You will keep your data, emails etc but will have to re-setup things like apple pay, locations services and synching iMessage to our Mac or iPad.

I regret the apple help/technical people are not at the level of technical competence they used to be, when the English speaking European help centre was based in Ireland. They usually seem to suggest the answer which is easiest for them, rather than looking for the correct solution. "Tick - another customer fobbed off - how soon is lunch?" This is a bit like the early days of company IT help desks: "have you tried turning it off and on again?" - grrrrrrrr!

Same issue for me. Siri uses 60-80% of my battery daily. I went in today to discuss the problem. I was told to replace the battery. I did this. It did not solve the problem. They then replaced my phone for free (thanks apple!) I did a restore from iCloud and same problem! I've been using the phone for 3 hours and its already flat. Siri used all my battery and I didnt even use it!

I’m still experiencing the same battery draining constantly! I went to the Apple store and they told me to wipe the phone clear and restore from the cloud. I did this and still having the same issue. I have turned off Siri in every location possible for every app and also went and deleted my Mail account because I have it on another device to see if this would work. It still says Siri and Mail are using nearly all of my battery even when it’s not being used overnight. If anyone has any real solutions, it would be very helpful. Wondering if Apple has acknowledged this issue and given a response.

My 2 month old XS upgraded to 13.6.1 2 days ago and this problem appeared for the first time. Every night my phone now goes from 100% to ~5% by morning. Siri is turned off and I have done the resets recommended. No change. Siri still uses ~82% of the battery while off.

When I use my phone during the day it only lasts 3 or 4 hours. It now takes forever to charge. The battery health is 100%. This has to be a software issue since everything is new and was working fine until the update 2 days ago.

How do you determine that Apple is actually tracking this problem? There are enough threads indicating a serious issue. Thanks.

How do you contact Apple to report these issues and get official answers from Apple?

as stated above, this is definitely significant enough with multiple users having the same issue. We’ve all been through all of the resets, updates and recommendations and nothing works. I switched from an iPhone X to an SE because my 10 just would not hold battery. I bought this new phone and the problem came over to the new phone as well. So frustrating!

we deserve answers and results.

I also have issues with Contacts freezing or processing very slow. My Siri also responds very slow. I’m visually impaired and use dictation and Siri often during the day. Definitely not enough to cause this battery issue because it drains the battery even when I’m not using the phone. But my Siri will often tell me to wait or hold on a second, processing very slowly relative to other devices using Siri that doesn’t have this issue.

I have been having the same problem. I don’t even use Siri, and it is at the top of the list for battery draining apps, followed by mail and contacts. Concurrently, my very reliable 2012 MacBook Pro started overheating and the fan was whirring at top speed for 2 days straight, and the processing slowed down to a crawl. iMessages was barely working and it was impacting my iPhone and iPad. The activity monitor showed a process called sharingd in my MAC was eating most of the cpu processing. I had to go out and buy a new MacBook so I could continue to work. Now I’m wondering if this is related to the Siri/battery issue with the iPhone and iPad, and is somehow connected iCloud related. I was on the phone to Apple support twice and they couldn’t diagnose the problem. My love of all things Apple is fading fast, especially after footing a hefty bill for a new MacBook.
