System photo library

Can iCloud photos be used as system photo library, if so how do you do it? Thank you in advance from a grateful senior citizen.

Maybe I don't understand your question right, but do you want to use iCloud photo's?

If so, your photo library on your iMac has to be your system library. How to check it: in the photo's app, on the menubar, click on Photo's, preferences, general. The button 'Use as system library' should be gray. If not, click on it.
