Bluetooth playback stuttering with MacBook Pro

I am using JBL E65BTNC wireless headphones with my MacBook Pro and consistently have stuttering playback while using Spotify, iTunes, YouTube, Netflix, etc. The audio does not stutter using onboard speakers, nor does it stutter using the headphones with my iPhone X. I've tried pasting various lines of code (like this: defaults write com.apple.BluetoothAudioAgent “Apple Bitpool Min (editable)” 40) to my Terminal to no avail.

I almost bought new headphones, but I am worried that will not fix the problem and this is just a MAJOR flaw in the iOS. (I'm using Catalina, but it was a problem with Mojave as well).

Has anyone else had this issue and found a solution? Any advice is appreciated.

Hi McWarden,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I see from your post that you are having an issue with bluetooth wireless headphones working with your MacBook Pro. There is stuttering in the playback. I would recommend looking at this article that talks about If a Bluetooth headset doesn’t work with Mac - Apple Support

If that doesn’t help, I would recommend making sure that your macOS is updated to the most recent version of Catalina. Here’s How to update the software on your Mac - Apple Support It’s always a good idea to back up your Mac before updating.

If the issue persists after updating, you can reset the SMC. Here’s How to reset the SMC of your Mac - Apple Support

I hope that helps.

Have a great day!
