iPhone to Mac - Some photos not synced?

My iPhone is set to automatically sync with my Mac, so I decided that it was safe to delete some of the photos on my phone -- the ones that I don't need or want to carry around with me.

However, in comparing Photos on my iPhone to Photos on my Mac, I discovered that, for some reason, there were a few photos on my phone that weren't on the Mac. Apparently, they did not all get automatically synced over the years.

I want to make sure that all photos that are on my phone are also on my Mac before deleting any off my phone. Is there a way to do this?

For anyone who's interested, I solved the problem by physically plugging my iPhone to my Mac and importing all the photos directly. When viewed chronologically, it's easy to see which photos I have two of. This led to a lot of duplicates of course, but it's easier that way to make sure all my phone photos are safely on my Mac.
