Life span of iPad Air 2 Wi-Fi

My iPad Air 2 abruptly stopped working overnight after a short span of 2.5 years. I have tried all possible measures to revive it, including a factory reset using my Macbook Air. The touch ability of the iPad has stopped working. There is not a single scratch on the device, nor has it been subjected to any undue stress. The device powers on but does not respond to touch. The Apple authorized service personnel have expressed their inability to repair the device. Now am left with a dead device. This experience leaves me with a bad taste and serious doubts on the quality of the famed Apple products. Have any of you faced a similar issue and if so how has it been resolved ?
