Football Workout - Distance Metric

Why can I not alter the metrics seen when using the football activity workout?

You can go into the settings within the apple watch app on your phone and alter the metrics you can view on various workouts such as outdoor run, outdoor walk etc but for some reason the setting isnt available to add distance whilst using the football workout.
