MagSafe 2 connectors

My Macbook Air came with a MagSafe 2 T-type connector. I much prefer the L-type connector. Why can’t I find one? It’s a much better connection, being less prone to come out while using my MacBook in bed.

No Apple OEM MagSafe 2 connector has been of the L type.

From what I gather, there were a lot of complaints about the L-type connector when using it in tight quarters since the cable either had to make a sharp bend behind the case, or had to be used in reverse where it might block off any ports in front. I've got an L type MagSafe connector on my mid-2012 MBP, and I have enough room behind. But if I had to reverse it, my ethernet and FireWire ports would be blocked off.
