Wired earphones disconnection problem

Hello,

For some time now I've been having this weird problem with my wired earphones(just regular earphones connected to the phone with the Lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter) - I'm listening to music and then all of a sudden it goes quiet because the earphones are disconnected for no reason. But the adapter is in the phone and it's not loose or anything like that to lose connection by being pulled accidentally. I take the adapter out, puit it in again, press play and music continues, but the disconnection problem can happen again anytime.

One time when the adapter was reconnected, music played out of the phone's speakers and the earphones were no longer recognized by the phone at all. Using Apple earphones didn't help either, completely new earphones were not recognized either and the sound was coming from the speakers. Restarting the phone fixed the problem.

Can you please tell me what can be the cause here? Is it the earphones/adapter/possible the phone's socket problem or the software problem that will be addressed in the future?

Thanks.

Best regards,

Stepan
