Apple and other sites can't tell difference between my iPhone 8+ and my 2012 Macbook Pro(i7, 520 SSHD, 16 RAM) AND IPHONE IS 256.

Why can't Apple or any web site (few exceptions) tell difference between my iPhone 8+(256) & macbook pro (i7, 16GB RAM, 520 SSHD)??

WHEN DOING TWO AUTHENTICATION IF I'M NOT CARRYING MY MACBOOK ALSO I CAN'T GET ACCESS CODE. OR I'M RUNNING IF HOME FROM ONE ROOM TO ANOTHER! SURELY THIS ISN'T THE WAY IT WORKS? IF I'M OUT WITH A CLIENT WITH IPHONE, GET LOCKED OUT OF IPHONE!

RUNNING BOTH ON SECURED NEW WIFI MODEM. LATEST SECURITY.

I'M CONFUSED, WANT MESSAGES BACKED UP FROM I PHONE BUT GO CHASING MY MACBOOK AROUND? TURNING IT IN WAITING.......

EVEN WHEN IPHONE IN CELL ONLY IT GOES TO MY MACBOOK RUNNING ON WIFI.

WHAT AM I MISSING? THANK YOU

iPhone 8 Plus, iOS 13

Hello kathy454,

After reviewing your post, it sounds like there is some confusion about how two-Factor authentication works. I would recommend you use this article for more information.

"you'll need to provide two pieces of information—your password and the six-digit verification code that's automatically displayed on your trusted devices."
