Can't change kids' Screen Time password

I need to change the Screen Time password on my kids' iPhones but can't. I manage their Screen Time from my iPhone and changed the password using my iPhone but it doesn't change the password on their phones so they can continue using the old password that they found out.

There is no option to change the password if I open Screen Time on their phones.

I saw another post about this that had no answers. Can someone please help?

To change or turn off the passcode on your child's device, go to Settings > Screen Time, and tap [your child's name]. Then tap Change Screen Time Passcode or Turn Off Screen Time Passcode, and authenticate the change with Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode

I resolved this by turning off screen time on the kids' phones from my phone, then turning it back on and setting a new password.

That said, it is a definite problem to be fixed that I, the parent, couldn't change the screen time password on their phones from my phone. There were 2 different passcodes for each kid, the one on my phone and the one on their phones. I guess this is because I must have originally set up screen time on their phones from their phones, not mine. It was not possible to change the passcode on their phones without doing what I ended up doing.
