my safari isn’t working. when i press buttons (for example - trying to press x/exit) it just makes the error noise?

Force Quit Safari. How to force an app to quit on your Mac - Apple Support

Do you have another browser installed? If so, launch it ,download EtreCheck and run it.


Presence of adware may cause this kind of a problem.

      https://etrecheck.com

      Click  “Free download” button,

      Open Downloads folder, click on it to open, and then select ”Open”.

      “Choose a problem” from the popup menu box, and then “Start EtreCheck” in the dialog.

      Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy report” .

      Paste the report when you reply.

Are you running any anti - virus programs? Using a VPN?


Try setting up another admin user account in System Preferences/Users & Groups to see if the same problem continues. Please post back on whether or not this worked. Also try the Safe Mode. Please post back on whether or not this worked.
