move photos from Iphone to PC

Every time I try to transfer my photos from my Iphone 7 to my PC I get a message that it is not connected as soon as I am copying them. I have almost 5000 photos and videos of my trip that I want to put on my PC safely. But this is not possible. Everything is mixed up via ICloud photos so this doesn't work either. What can be done about this?

iPhone 7, iOS 12

If you have iCloud Photos turned on, you need to download the original, full resolution versions of your photos to your iPhone before you import to your PC. Find out how.

Photos and videos that you sync from your computer to your iOS device using iTunes can't be imported back to your computer.

Learn what to do if you can't import photos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your computer.

Connect iPhone to Computer / Mac

  1. Use your USB lightening cable --> Resolve USB-related alerts in iTunes - Apple Support
  2. If unable to connect --> If iTunes doesn't recognize your iPhone, iPad, or iPod - Apple Support
  3. Use genuine cable --> Identify counterfeit or uncertified Lightning connector accessories ...
  4. See how to --> Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod using iTunes on your computer ...
