Apple Music album splits

Two or more times now I’ve gone to an artist in my Apple Music library to find some of their albums split into two rendering me unable to play the whole album. Contacted Apple support and they said to plug my iPhone into my MacBook with iTunes and mark the album as not part of a compilation which means somehow some songs were marked as part of a compilation and some weren’t. Thus splitting it on my iPhone. I was wondering why this happens in the first place? These are regular non-compilation albums by one artist
