Trying to back up my son's Iphone 5s to iMac

Hi,

I'm trying to back up my son's iPhone 5s to our iMac using iTunes. When I connect his phone to the iMac and open iTunes and click on the phone icon in the top left of the screen it goes directly to a screen saying "Welcome to your new iPhone". Here the only options are to set up this iPhone as a new iPhone or restore all your information from a previous backup. It is not showing the usual Summary screen that allows you to simply back up. It is the first time we have attempted to back up this particular phone. Can you please suggest how we can find the Summary screen.

Hi there, Backingup1.

I see that you're trying to create a backup of your son's iPhone. The problem is, you're only being presented with option to set it up as a new iPhone or restore a backup. I'm glad to help with this.

How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch -- If this is the first time you've connect your son's iPhone with iTunes, it's a new iPhone to the application. Select "As a new iPhone", and you'll be taken to the Summary page. If you’d like a bit of insurance, you can always back up to iCloud before you proceed.

Take care.
