What are you looking to do? Is it still working? If it's not then Apple may or may not do a repair that would allow you to back it up. If it's not backed up already, Apple makes no guarantees if it's brought in for repair. Certainly you can back it up at an Apple Store if it still works despite the damage, but exactly do you plan to do with the backup? Are you planning on bringing a computer for the backup and you just need some hand holding to figure this out? Maybe do it on an Apple Store demo computer where you would copy over the backup directory to a USB flash drive?
I've tried doing the online support. "Update, Backup & Restore" then "Backing up or restoring data from a backup" only give options for a chat or to talk to Apple support (which may require that phone support is still active). There is no means to schedule an appointment directly. You might be able to talk to Apple support where they can schedule an appointment for you. Another option would be to go to an Apple Store and then schedule an appointment there.
