Why isn’t my update automatically updating with WiFi

Every time I connect to WiFi and try to download and install my software update it says estimating time remaining and seconds later kicks back to “download and install” why am I having so much trouble with this update???? HEEEEEEELP PLEASE!!!!! 🤪
