Lock screen setting with lid open

hello, I am new user to Mac and I am trying to figure out the lock screen settings. I would appreciate some help. What I am trying to achieve is the following:

1. while lid is open, never ask for password and do not put disk to sleep
2. if lid is close, put disks to sleep and lock screen immediately.

I have only been able to achieve the second part and not the first.

My system is macOs Mojave 10.14.6
