mac not locking

When i put my Macbook to 'sleep', when i open the lid again it doesn't require my password or touch id. I have set the timer on it to '1 minute' and rebooted it, and I left it for over 30 mins to test it, and then again overnight and i have the same problem. Does anyone know how to fix this because it seems like a privacy issue?? (my mac is fully updated, etc, etc)

Thanks

MacBook Air

You could try to set the Mac, MacBook/Air, or /Pro to require password when it's awakened.

Usually this setting only shows a login window; or choice among user-name logins.

Additional information may or could be found in Help in your Mac Finder's menu.
