How do I get rid of iMessage on my iPad

Thanks for your help Lyssa. I want to disable the app. in order to stop getting IMessages on my iPad and iPhone.

I think I got it off my iPhone and I don't have a sim card in my iPad but I am concerned that iMessages will come through on the wifi.

Thanks again Lyssa. You're absolutely right; I want iMessage gone and I don't ever want to use it on my iPad or my iPhone. It keeps interfering with getting and sending messages from people who don't have Apple.

I'm reading about SMS versus iMessage and if I could tell the difference when someone send me an iMessage it might solve the problem but, I don't see any green or blue bubble.
