Can’t get close captioning to work on Roku Apple channel

I’m using Roku to get to the Apple plus channel. I went to settings and tried to enable close captioning, but it’s not working.

CC on Apple app not working on Roku Can't seem to enable closed captioning for the Apple TV+ channel on Roku. The Apple support doc doesn't have anything on Roku. I can set the style in the Apple app, but I don't see an option to actually enable it. (It is set to enabled in the Roku settings, but that doesn't seem to affect the Apple app.)
