Apple Pay doesn’t work on new Iphone 11

Dear colleagues, Apple Pay doesn’t work on new Iphone 11. I bought this device less than a month ago. After two weeks of usage Apple Pay had started not operating. I gave it to service they recovered the soft on this phone. It took 7 days. I took it back, spent half of the day to reinstall a copy of my IPhone and after one day of operation the problem is occurred again. The service is advising me to bring and recovered it one more time, nothing else they can advice. but I believe that it’s worth of time and very inconvenient for customer having new device continue not problematic usage of previous iPhone 6 vs 11. Who can help me in this case?

Very frustrating. From your recent post, I understand that your phone is with Apple service now. When you get it back, do not load the backup. Just set it up as a new phone and use it like that for a week (assuming you use Apple Pay frequently). See how the Apple Pay works.

  1. If Apple Pay works, then it is something that happens when you do the restore. Then you can do what @askbarnabas said and NOT do a restore--just set up your iCloud. You will lose SMS messages and call records, but not photos or e-mail. You will be all set with a working phone and Apple Pay.
  2. If Apple Pay stops working again, then you can tell Apple that it is the phone hardware, and at least you will have saved yourself the time and trouble of restoring it only to have the same issue. When you get the replacement/repaired phone, you can restore from your backup. You will only lose the SMS messages and call records from the time of your last backup.

Actually, there are items, such as SMS, NOT stored in iCloud that some of us want to keep. These are available in a backup. I am not sure the problem is the backup. Why would Apple Pay work for 2 weeks with the OP's configuration and then suddenly not work?

I am having an issue with Apple Pay with Apple's OWN CARD on my iPhone X, which I've had for 2 years now. I've successfully used Apple Pay with my MasterCard with another bank during that time at multiple stores. I used Apple Pay with the Apple Card a couple of times with no problem. Now it's communicating with the terminal but obviously having a handshake issue because I get a "not authorized" message from the terminal. I am able to use the physical card for purchases, so there is no issue with the account.

I very much suspect the last OS update hosed it. Am I going to reset my phone completely to try to fix it? No I am not. I am going to use my MasterCard and wait for Apple to get its act together and issue an update that (silently) fixes the issue.

What should I do if I need my back up version of this device. How I can recover the info from previous one device. Or you are suggesting to recover the version from iPhone 6 for example but not the previous version of new one iPhone? Or what do you mean? I’ve chosen iPhone because it’s easily recovered from one device to another. Considering such reply even Android could be an option to buy and it’s will be also new but without any background. What is an idea behind? I didn’t get

I can spend many hours for doing that (reinstall just photos and contacts, download all needed apps manually) but I’ve already given my device to service but nothing has changed. What is a warranty that it’s worth to spend more time on that. I’ve spent money and time a lot on this case already and it’s a 1st time in my life that new device is worthier the old one from problems bringing point of view.

I did it already 2 times. Take it back from the service without back up installation. It was working 2 weeks and stop again. Apple’s opinion it’s not a hardware because it was working for some time and it’s not a priority for them because phone is working but with some excuses. I gave it to service 2 times already. 1st time Apple Pay was operating 1 day and 2d time 2 weeks. I am lost in this situation. Because only apple company can take a decision that phone is damaged and replace it.

Just to follow up on this discussion, I took my iPhone X to the Apple store when I was nearby for another reason (store is 1.5 hours from my home). I asked the Genius Bar tech to test the NFC. It worked perfectly with both my old MasterCard and with the Apple Card that was giving me an issue. No device reset needed. I do not know what the issue was at the store where I had the problem, but it was not my phone. Glad I didn't go through the hassle of resetting.

Lucky you are. My iphone 11 is already 2d time in the service and 5times tried to solve the issue with on-line tech support.

my phone was 2 times re started as a new one device:

with back up and without back up file installation. 1st time Apple Pay worked 1 day 2 d time - 2weeks and stopped again. All apps I started downloading when it was needed and even not all of them were installed when it stopped operating again. After that I tried to delete apps one by one parallel testing Apple Pay working. But no results. Also vpn settings were were recommended to test but it’s ok. Apple support answering that it’s not a priority for them to solve because only one function of my device vs all phone functions doesn’t work. But it’s incredible from my point of view because one and the most important function in 21st century and its apple company☝️ Now my phone I gave to Physical service one more time and old Iphone6 i am using again and it is perfectly working still, Apple Pay I mean.
