Recovering unix executable folders - files

Hello Everyone,

I have a folder on a thumb drive that turned into a unix executable file of 0 bytes when Finder crashed while the folder was loading and Finder restarted. Is it possible to recover?

The folder had some jpg and psd files in it I would prefer to keep.

I've searched quite a bit online, contacted apple support, and found no solution to the issue. Perhaps I buy recovery software? That's what everyone says– Even then I am not optimistic on the value proposition!

Thanks,

It is important to stop using the drive, first of all. You can use file recovery software. I don’t know about psd files, but jpg files are easily recognizable. File recovery software should be able to retrieve them. Generally you download the software and only have to pay if it looks like it can recover your files.
