How to remove Calendar spam?

So, i was browsing Internet in Safari in iPhone and there was this website and when i opened it there was a pop-up and i accidentally clicked on “subscribe” and then i noticed my calendar had events like “IPhone security pack discount”. Any suggestions as to how to remove access of these sites from my calendar. I know it’s isn’t interrupting me or anything but still it’s frustrating and one another thing do i have to worry about my other information like partner details or my logging saved in my iPhone? Here is my calendar looking rn

Go to Settings/Calendar/Accounts, Tap Subscribed Calendars, tap on the offending calendar and delete it.

More precisely:

  • Tap on the Settings icon
  • Scroll down to Calendar and tap on on it
  • Tap on Accounts
  • Tap on Subscribed Calendars
  • Tap on the offending calendar
  • Tap Delete Account

If you are using iOS 13 then Go to Settings Passwords & Accounts and under Accounts see if an unknown calendar account is listed. If it is then tap on it and then Delete account.

If you are using iOS 14 the Go to Settings Calendar Accounts and under Accounts see if an unknown calendar account is listed. If it is then tap on it and then Delete account.

How did it get on the phone if iPhone is unhackable, I mean they would have to remote access your phone somehow in order to add an account to your phone without your doing? Right? So how does this not also corrupt the entire phone?

No, you actually put it there by accepting an invitation from a website to “Allow notifications” or some such message.

That’s what the official Apple support article suggests. It hides the calendar, but doesn’t delete it so it still updates in background. The better solution is to actually delete it:

If your phone has iOS 13 or earlier: Go to Settings/Passwords & Accounts, look under Subscribed Calendars, tap on the offending calendar and delete it.

If your phone has iOS 14: Go to Settings/Calendar/Accounts, look under Subscribed Calendars, tap on the offending calendar and delete it.
