How to remove Calendar spam?

So, i was browsing Internet in Safari in iPhone and there was this website and when i opened it there was a pop-up and i accidentally clicked on “subscribe” and then i noticed my calendar had events like “IPhone security pack discount”. Any suggestions as to how to remove access of these sites from my calendar. I know it’s isn’t interrupting me or anything but still it’s frustrating and one another thing do i have to worry about my other information like partner details or my logging saved in my iPhone? Here is my calendar looking rn

Go to Settings/Calendar/Accounts, Tap Subscribed Calendars, tap on the offending calendar and delete it.

More precisely:

  • Tap on the Settings icon
  • Scroll down to Calendar and tap on on it
  • Tap on Accounts
  • Tap on Subscribed Calendars
  • Tap on the offending calendar
  • Tap Delete Account

Thanks so much Lawrence. I’ve deleted the outlook from the calendar account. If I sign back into OWA via internet it has the calendar in there with the ‘rogue’ appointments. I don’t know how to seperate my email from the calendar. I’ve now lost all of my outlook emails (I can access when I log back in but it also adds the calendar) any further help would be appreciated.

Hey Lawrence, not sure what I deleted but I added my outlook back in and the rogue appointments reappeared. I went into settings- passwords and there was stuff that I didn’t know what it was so I deleted them and WOW the ‘rogue’ calendar appointments are gone! So not sure how or why but I can’t thank you enough for continuing on with me until I got it sorted! So thanks again! And hopefully I never click on some random thing again!

What gets me Alex is there are idiots (or poor unawares) that will buy the VPN the rogue calendar link redirects you to in the APP Store, believing they need it or else more data will be deleted from their phones (Hah! As LUMI VPN App instructs). I mean how could you believe an instruction that merely originates from a harmless calendar alert. I let it linger for 2 says cuz I was busy yesterday. The way it functions is it inserts 5 consecutive alerts over a 5 hour period twice a day (morning & night) Each one a similar warning with a redirect to the VPN in the APP Store for purchase that purports it will rid your phone of COVID-19. Hah!

This is a serious problem that affects many people in terrible ways.I have an older friend that was frightened and scared into giving their Apple ID and credit card info to a scammer…needless to say it created a huge problem for my friend. We should do all we can to help protect these people from these scams.Knowledge provided by this forum and Apple go such a long way to stop this nonsense.Make it easy for those just learning to ask for help here please
