My phone is not working in pakistan

I bought an iphone11 ( unlocked ) from bestbuy in bowie , DC.

when i opened it up it had a sim in the simtray already ! Which was weird because i did not buy a carrier/contract phone at all.

It showed AT&T as the carrier ie it was working.

I came to Pakistan and then after a month it stopped working.

With error of cellular network issue and asked for an update.

i did update my phone via itunes on laptop but that wasnt it.

Then it occurred to me that it was because of the PTA Customs Tax wasn't paid.

I did pay the tax and they approved my Iphone11 but the problem persists.

The bars on the top right corner are just dancing and cant catch onto the carrier i am using ie Telenor.

Its been 3 months now and i am very upset.

Can someone help with the issue i am facing ?

i’ll be really grateful if you did.

Thanks for reaching out here in the Apple Support Communities. I understand that your iPhone, which was purchased in the U.S., and worked in Pakistan for 1 month, is no longer working after it was approved. I'm glad to help with this.

There are a few things you can try when you get the error that the "Cellular Update Failed".

Be sure that you Update your carrier settings on your iPhone or iPad
Restart the iPhone using “slide to power off”. This explains how: Restart your iPhone
Check Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options and make sure Low Data Mode is not enabled
Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This also resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN and APN settings that you may have used before.
Check with your carrier to be sure that everything is working properly with your account.
Check to see if you have any profiles installed, or if you need to reset APN setting, as described here: View and edit your Access Point Name (APN) on your iPhone and iPad
