Fingerprint isn’t working

My fingerprint isn’t working, I search for setup the Touch ID and reboot my iPhone 6 but after restart it says ‘unable to activate Touch ID on this device’...

why this happening? Could you please help me?

iPhone 6, iOS 12

See this for troubleshooting Touch ID, including contacting Apple support if that is not working. If Touch ID isn't working on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
