There is a microphone symbol on my status bar when I call people?
What the **** is this? It’s not voice control I know that much is true. Please help I swear I’m convinced someone is listening in to my calls

This generally appears when the microphone is in use by an app that has requested permission to use it. You can see this list by going to Settings > Privacy > Microphone. Something you might try is turning off the apps that have been granted permission one by one until the icon disappears. You might need to restart your iPhone to get the icon to no longer show, so keep that in mind as you remove those apps one at a time. This would let you know which app was causing the icon to appear.
