Question

“Avast” can’t be modified or deleted because it’s required by macOS.

I deleted Avast from my Mac a couple weeks ago using the in app uninstall tool. However when I search for Avast or avast.app a file called Avast shows up but I am unable to delete it. When I try to drag it to the trash I get the error: “Avast” can’t be modified or deleted because it’s required by macOS. I tried double clicking to open the file but it says the file is either damaged or incomplete. How can I remove this from my mac?

As I said above, MacOS does not require the program.

MacOS does not say it requires the program. Avast is saying that in your screen shot.

But that message is a message from Finder not Avast. If it was from Avast shouldn't macOS still allow me to drag the file to the trash?

You have said repeatedly:

That is not true. And it is not stated anywhere, including in your screen shot.

Yeah, I used their uninstall tool for the uninstall, I was wondering why macOS says it requires the program. Especially because Avast is a third party tool that has nothing to do with Apple.
