Can’t ERASE duplicate Machintosh HD

I have multiple Machintosh HD and Machintosh HD - Data. When I ERASE one it is recreated automatically. “Erasing “Machintosh HD - Data” and creating “Machintosh HD - Data””.

Mac mini 2018 or later

New Mac Mini installs MacBook Air automatically = Trouble! Setup new Mac Mini with Ventura automatically brough over contents from MacBook Air. When I wanted to remove items from Mini it automatically also removed the same items from MBAir! = disaster Fortunately I stopped and was able to restore from Time Machine Backup. How to stop this linkage?????? I don't want many/most of these items on the Mini! It is to be used for different purposes. How to use the Mini without automatically changing the MBAir and vice versa???
