You could use Apple’s Multiport adapter which would allow you to connect a USB hub to your iPad as well as iPad’s charger. You could then connect a powered USB hub into the adapter’s USB port.

I use various Bluetooth headphones and headsets with my iPhone and iPads and all pair and work fine - a Bose NC700 and a, Cowin E9 (both full size over the ear head phones), a Samsung, a Toshiba airpro (alternative to Apple’s air pods), and a Motorola set that I use when working out (they are the most “sweat” resistant ones I’ve found).

There are tons of BT options for head phones or headsets with an iPhone or iPad, from the very inexpensive to the very expensive.

The wireless headphones do not need to be Apple, so you have a lot to choose from, including a multitude of speakers. And of course it is a portable device by design. Perhaps you should have thought out your perceived needs a bit before making a purchase.

You're not limited to Apple's wireless headphones. Any Bluetooth headsets will work.

Oh, there are also wired alternatives too. Pioneer makes their Rayz Plus NC headphones which have a lightening port built into the music/call control part for a charging connection. There may be similar things from other manufacturers I’m not aware of.
