MacBook Pro + Lenovo ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Dock - sound

Hi,

I have a brand new MacBook Pro 2019 16" and I have it connected to the Lenovo ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Dock. Most things are working ok (monitors, keyboard, mouse...) except 2:

1) The power output of the dock is probably not enough - the laptop is not charging

• butok, I got it, I have to insert power adapter too as the MacBook is quite power consuming

2) I cannot control sound volume of the dock. I have several possible sound outputs

• macbook speakers - working fine
• headphones plugged into the macbook - working fine
• jabra headphones (usb) plugged into the dock - working fine
• 3.5mm jack headphones plugged into the dock - NOT working fine. The sound volume is always at max level and it cannot be changed

Does anyone have an idea why the volume control is not working (it is grey and the slider cannot be moved)?

I also borrowed some dell dock station from my colleague and there it was working fine (except the power problem, that one persisted), only the Lenovo is causing sound problems.
