Voicemail Notification

Hi, i recently changed my new sim card (old one was faulty) and received the infamous little red dot at the voicemail and every now and then i keep receiving the "New Voicemail" notification.

I'd never subscribed to voicemail for this mobile number and my telco does not offer Visual Voicemail.

Steps that i have tried after browsing the web for various methods:

(1) Reset my own voicemail : call my own voicemail from another phone and place a voicemail, listen to it etc

(2) Reset carrier settings : Resetted my network settings under General > Reset > Reset Network Settings

(3) Double check my iOS Version and ensure the latest is updated : 13.3

(4) Attempted at "Change login information of Voicemail"

When i go to Settings > Phone > Change Voicemail Password

i was prompted "Voicemail Unavailable, Try Again later" message

(5) Goes into airplane mode and try Step (1), Step (2) and Step (4)

I'm running out of ideas or steps and the frequent notification of phantom "New Voicemail" is driving me crazy, please help me....

Visual Voicemail and Voicemail are services provided by carriers. If you are having issues with this, I would suggest reaching out to your carrier.

I'd mentioned clearly that my telco does not offer Visual Voicemail and i'd disable the voicemail services from Day 1.

The issue arises due to a change of new sim card.

As iOS does not have the option to "switch off" voicemail, the issue arises.

I'm writing in this community to seek any other solutions to address the annoying notification.

Also, a factory reset does not help in case anyone would like to suggest. I received the same annoying notification.

Hi LoveMyApples30,

As my telco have disabled the voicemail/visual voicemail service, calling "1" got me a "The number is invalid" response.

I'm still getting the annoying phantom red dot Voicemail Notification every now and then i perform a power cycle my iphone.

it is disabled on my telco/carrier end and they have reconfirmed that both Visual Voicemail and Voicemail is deactivated.

Yet the problem still persists.... :(

You said you have a new sim card. Your carrier may need to disable it again on their end.

Try calling into your voicemail and see what it says. Open phone keypad, then press and hold '1' it should connect to your voicemail.
