I went to the Apple Store today and my Apple TV 4K could not be diagnosed or serviced in any way.
I need to vent now with a bit of history. I first purchased an Apple TV 4K in January 2018 and shortly thereafter and possibly with the introduction of the Mac Mojave OS, problems arose with my ability to Home Share iTunes music from my Mac to my Apple TV and home theatre. Months of dialogue with Apple Support produced no satisfactory resolution. Despite my sense that it was a software issue, Apple concluded it must be a hardware issue and under warranty they replaced my Apple TV in November 2018. The Home Share issue was never resolved. What I learned today at the Apple Store was that their replacement Apple TV was not new. It was a refurbished Apple TV which operated 14 months before it failed. I took a $200 bath to replace it today but I suppose that’s the price of Apple loyalty.
