Would there be any certain reason why a certain brand of speaker would buffer with Apple TV HD? I’m using HBL speakers. Would there be any recommendations as to what I should be using instead of JBL speakers? Thanks in advance.

Bluetooth would always buffer a bit, because that is how bluetooth works. If that is not compensated for sync automatically in a correct way, then you can adjust it, as described in this support document. Set up Wireless Audio Sync with Apple TV - Apple Support
Wired speakers are recommended, though.
